SAP offers innovative, flexible solutions for SME

SAP and its partners unveiled the latest spectrum of business solutions for small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) at the recent CeBIT 2011, held in Hanover, Germany.

These solutions including latest innovations of the SAP Business All-in-One solution, software for midsize companies with deep industry-specific capabilities, as well as the SAP Business One application for small companies and SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence (BI) solutions.

Under the motto: “Here and now”, SAP and its partners showcased the new technology and applications that address the requirements of enterprises of all sizes, and how they provide business-critical information on mobile devices. The SAP solutions strategy is based on the three pillars: on-premise, on-demand and on-device; SAP solutions support companies and their employees in improving collaboration and accelerating the decision-making process.

Brett Parker, SAP Vice-President of Emerging Markets Ecosystem & Channels for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), says: “We believe that these solutions will offer great opportunities such as additional functionality, improved business insight and hosted solution benefits. SAP solutions are deployed based on industry best practice with fast start methodologies to help grow the SME market in Africa. SAP Business All-in-One is the comprehensive on-premise business solution that offers complex industries specific functionalities, including the extensive process requirements of the professional services, manufacturing, consumer goods and retail industries. Small companies with up to 100 employees can manage core business areas with SAP Business One. SAP Business One offers flexibility where SME customers can also use mobile applications developed for the iPhone and iPad.

Through these offerings, SAP caters to the demand of companies of all sizes for immediate access to business applications, enabling them to run their businesses from any location, at any time. SAP BusinessObjects BI solutions offer business intelligence expertise in all project phases - from requirement analysis, concept development and planning, to training. “With our business intelligence user interface, we now provide our customers with real-time insight into their organisation based on the SAP business platform,” says Parker.

“SAP Africa has a strong ecosystem throughout sub-Saharan and we continue to increase our footprint and extend our reach in the market. Our strategy is to invest with our partners to jointly develop SME markets throughout Africa,” concludes Parker.
