While reviewing its critical business processes, SA Rugby recognised that its current e-mail delivery system was inefficient and lacked professionalism. Particular areas of concern were brand integrity and the persistent threat of e-mail downtime or loss of connectivity, the impact of which would lead to the frustration of key stakeholders.
EOH, having managed SA Rugby's ERP system, business processes, and IT infrastructure since 2003, worked with SA Rugby to investigate potential solutions.
With live sporting events, prompt and secure information dissemination is vital. Mimecast's software as a service (SaaS) solution not only filled this requirement, it added a host of other features providing additional e-mail security and confidentiality, anti-spam/virus, and off-site e-mail archiving.
With a SaaS solution in place, SA Rugby was also free of additional hardware and skills requirements. “Since implementing Mimecast, SA Rugby has had no issues with mail delivery, they are enjoying advanced reporting facilities, and the 10-year e-mail archiving has provided peace of mind,” says Barbi Goldblatt, Managing Director, EOH Western Cape.
