Rodio (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd, operational in SA since 1956 and internationally recognised as a market leader in complex geotechnical engineering and dam grouting projects, has revamped two of its essential applications by implementing Access Accounts supplied by Access` SA distributor, ASYST International.
"We were running two essential but unconnected applications; a financial system and a site costing system, which we knew were costing us time and money," commented Ricardo Ribero, Project Manager for Rodio. "We also had a desperate need for a stock control system. It was a combination of all these requirements that necessitated an investigation and a decision for the implementation of a new integrated solution that would also support the future growth that we envisaged for our business."
"We were looking for a package that was specialised for our industry, flexible with a strong support structure. Our investigations led us to a decision to implement Access Accounts Dimensions," continued Ribero, "Together with ASYST we created an implementation plan that allowed us to be up and running within two months and immediately realising the benefits of our decision. I experienced a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm in all our dealings with ASYST. They always found a solution to any challenges and they never said no!"
Rodio benefited from three main areas within Dimensions and ASYST`s integrated solutions. Firstly, its site costing sheets are now generated weekly as opposed to monthly and workshop job cards are available soon after job completion, rather than reaching the sites at month end. Secondly, there was no automated way of monitoring stock levels; with Access Rodio can now monitor stock usage by site divisions, resulting in the ability to purchase large volumes of fast-moving stock items at a more attractive price. Finally, and most importantly, the full integration of processes has significantly increased efficiency across many operations.
"Now that the core system has been implemented, it is time to look at automating other areas that will further streamline our business processes," concluded Ribero. "The next project will be to look at the asset management software that ASYST is marketing in order to manage our plant and fleet more effectively."
"We are delighted that the implementation went successfully," added Dennis Marketos, MD of ASYST International. "ASYST strives to develop lasting relationships with all our clients. We look forward to a long and successful association with Rodio Rosond."
