Premier ACCPAC solution provider, AccTech Systems, has installed ACCPAC Advantage Series Enterprise Edition (EE) along with AccTech eWorkflow at the Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL). The installation will address RAL`s budget control and business intelligence issues.
According to Tertius Zitzke, Managing Director of AccTech Systems, RAL was in search of a workflow solution that would assist in fulfilling the control of awarded tenders with attention to commitments, work certifications and automated accounting for retention purposes.
"Because a flexible reporting structure was a prerequisite for the RAL, the structure of the General Ledger accounts has been set up to suit the way the company reports to Limpopo Province and central government," says Zitzke.
The ACCPAC General Ledger is structured to report on the different segments made up of areas in Limpopo, funding source for projects, type of road or bridge, project type and RDP classification project. eWorkflow for ACCPAC developed locally by AccTech Systems, will add commitment accounting, retention, BPM (business process management) and record level security to the management and staff of RAL. A full transaction audit on approvals, authorisation on budget overspending and user substitution is available on eWorkflow.
Alice Mogotlane, head of finance at RAL, says the comprehensive solution offered by AccTech has accomplished all that it promised to do.
"We now have management reports that show us the status of all of the projects in progress," she says. "We can drill back to the briefing stage of the projects; see what percentage of work has been certified and the amount of retention being held by the RAL, including the actual accounting for this type of retention, which is all automated.
"The business day is simpler, easier to run with and all our processes are now automated. AccTech has enhanced our infrastructure to the point where we can view reports as and when required, as well as easily track jobs while closely monitoring associated costs - all at a click of a button."
