NetIQ Corporation, an Attachmate business, has today announced that Principality Building Society, the tenth largest building society in the UK, has selected its new process automation platform Aegis, to model, automate, measure and improve IT operational run books and processes within the organisation.
Aegis has been developed to allow organisations to model, intelligently automate and measure IT run books and processes to reduce the time spent by IT operations staff on manual repetitive tasks, bringing control and automation to IT operations.
Principality Building Society has selected Aegis to automate labour and time-intensive tasks such as server re-boots, event response, server maintenance and updating systems with new files.
As an existing NetIQ AppManager customer Principality Building Society was able to quickly see the benefits of Aegis. Marc Jones, IT Infrastructure Support Manager at Principality, comments: "The business case for deploying Aegis was straightforward; as with all organisations, our challenge is to make the most efficient use of all our resources. We were aware that our service desk teams were spending a considerable amount of time on mundane, repetitive tasks. Another key reason for selecting Aegis was the need to introduce more standardised procedures and systems to ensure the same process, such as system and service restarts, are carried out in exactly the same way each time, to comply with best practices and minimise service impact. To this end, Aegis will also help the organisation achieve the goal of automating processes across departments and disciplines.
