Pop star Allen sues Apple

British pop star Lily Allen is suing technology company Apple after her laptop, produced by the company, was hacked, writes NDTV.

The 25-year-old British trash-pop icon filed a lawsuit against Apple in the London High Court, reported Sun online. She recently found out that her laptops have been accessed without her permission and tried without success to determine the identity of the hacker.

After the company failed to help her, Allen decided to take them to court.

T-Mobile in marijuana lawsuit

T-Mobile is being sued for blocking text messages dealing with medical marijuana from a company that sends out group messages for all kinds of businesses, including the 'Marijuana' Web site, reports Technolog.

New York-based EZ Texting recently filed suit in US District Court against T-Mobile, alleging on 10 September the carrier started blocking all messages by the company's clients because T-Mobile "did not approve" of text messages sent by one of those clients using EZ Texting's services.

The Web site describes itself as "a community where medical marijuana patients connect with other patients in their geographic region to freely discuss and review local cannabis co-operatives, dispensaries, medical doctors and delivery services."

Ericsson files for patent infringement

Ericsson has filed with the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas charges against Taiwan-based vendors Acer and D-Link as well as a few other vendors including Netgear and Gateway for infringement of its WLAN patents, says Digitimes.

For Acer and D-Link, products under the accusation are WLAN devices equipped with WLAN chips developed Atheros Communications, Marvell and Taiwan-based Realtek Semiconductor and Ralink Technology, the sources pointed out.

Acer and D-Link have not yet responded to the lawsuit.
