Cape Town, 22 Oct 2012

The DMA 2012 Innovation award has been presented to Pitney Bowes, the global pacesetter in customer data, analytics and communications management.

The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) presented the software leader with the DMA Innovation award for its Portrait Explorer product in the Database, Measurement and Attribution sector.

The Innovative Portrait Explorer software solution deals with mass volumes of customer data and provides marketers with a self-service access to customer insights. Marketers can visually navigate through customer data to easily recognise and share customer segments and target groups. Real customers are displayed as "customer cards" in a user-friendly interface and there is no pre-aggregation, thus allowing you to work interactively with the detailed customer data.

Portrait Explorer uses the popular digital photo management application that allows marketers to browse through thousands of individual customer photos and organise and segment them with the click of a mouse.

Analytical data intelligence provider Effective Intelligence is the approved reseller of Pitney Bowes Software in South Africa. The CEO, Julian Ardagh, congratulated Pitney Bowes and said: "The cross-channel campaign management solution of Pitney Bowes ranks amongst the best in the world with highly effective real-time analytics and active revenue generation. Effective Intelligence is proud to serve as a seller in South Africa."

The DMA is the world's largest trade association dedicated to advancing and protecting responsible data-driven marketing. Founded in 1917, DMA represents thousands of companies and non-profit organisations that use and support data-driven marketing practices and techniques.
