Phoenix Software has announced the availability of two new hardware and software combinations from Pinnacle Systems to significantly enhance movie production: Pinnacle MovieBox Plus USB and Ultimate USB and Movie Board Standard and Ultimate PCI.
Pinnacle Studio MovieBox Plus and Ultimate USB
The powerful combination of Pinnacle Studio version 12 software and the MovieBox plug-and-play USB 2.0 video capture device gives consumers an end-to-end solution for capturing, editing, or publishing videos in all of the most popular formats.
The proven software/hardware combination also works seamlessly together to preserve the pristine quality of the video from original source through final output.
Designed for Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista systems, Pinnacle Studio MovieBox allows video enthusiasts to capture video from any analogue or digital source such as a Hi8 camcorder, VCR, TV, set-top box, DV or HDV camcorder. With AVCHD support, users can also capture video from the latest AVCHD camcorders and edit their content directly in its native format - eliminating the need for time-consuming format conversions. Support for various HD camcorder types includes JVC, Canon, Panasonic, Sanyo and Sony.
New Pinnacle Studio version 12 features
With Pinnacle Studio Plus version 12, Pinnacle MovieBox users can now enjoy Pinnacle Montage, a theme-based editing feature that enables them to work with up to 18 video tracks. Other features include complete HD workflow, more editing control, one-click uploading to the Web and playback on portable devices.
Pinnacle Montage makes creating a video with multi-track overlays amazingly easy. Users can create professional-looking results in minutes by simply selecting from the more than 80 pre-built creative templates divided into 11 themes that were designed by professional producers and artists. With the ability to overlay multiple Montage presets and enhance them with titles, sounds, music, transitions and other effects, users do not need to drill into various video tracks or be an expert.
Also included with Pinnacle Studio Plus version 12 are new convenient marker tools for the timeline, new titles and DVD menus and extended 2D effects, including a rotate effect.
With expanded format support, users can now import photos in Photoshop's native PSD format and the GIF format. New export options are also available for creating MP3, Flash Video, WAV and 3GP files or uploading files direct to YouTube with a single click.
Pinnacle Studio's advanced built-in disc burning capabilities allow users to create DVD, HD-DVD and AVCHD discs on standard DVD media. They can also natively author and burn Blu-ray format (BD-MV) discs with full motion menus or make AVCHD format discs on standard DVDs to play on Blu-ray players.
Pinnacle Studio MovieBox Ultimate gives the following additional features over the Plus edition namely: Magic Bullet - Looks, ProDAD- VitasScene and BorisFX- Graffiti 5.2; Green screen, Dolby 5.1 Encoding free activation.

Pinnacle Studio MovieBoard Standard and Ultimate PCI
Pinnacle Studio MovieBoard Ultimate is a package with Pinnacle Studio Ultimate version 12 software and a digital and analogue PCI video capture card, ideal for desktop users.
In addition to including a green sheet for Chroma keying effects, three of the industry's most highly acclaimed professional video tools with key frame control and customisable effects have been added: Boris Graffiti for innovative title and graphic animation, Magic Bullet Looks for professional film styles, and proDad VitaScene for sophisticated effects and transitions.
Pinnacle Studio MovieBoard Standard PCI which incorporates the Standard version of Studio 12 is available from major retailers and carries a SRP of R1 499.95, while MovieBoard Ultimate, which includes support for HD, AVCHD and Blu-ray authoring retails for R2 999.95.
