Premier Softline ACCPAC Business Partner, AccTech Systems, introduced local ACCPAC Cash Management solutions developer, PereSoft Software`s Cashbook solution at the South African Registrar of Deeds Office.
Gert Hattingh, Registration, Support Systems and Financial Management at the office of the Chief Registrar of Deeds, says the cashbook procedure at Deeds is very different today than a few years ago. "We used to bank money after they captured the receipt in the accounts receivable files and then each entry was processed in cashbook as it appears on the bank statements," says Hattingh. "AccTech Systems implemented PereSoft Cashbook and RecXpress to the Deeds office, which introduced a whole new advanced, efficient and effective way of cash management," says Robert Perel, Managing Director of Peresoft Software.
"Now bank statements are electronically downloaded from their central system, CATS, in text format. After conversion to a CSV format it is imported in a template, which allows the user to change all the dates to that of the bank statements and the entry type to AR transactions," adds Perel.
"This allows the user to make allocations directly in the cashbook and ensures there is also a batch in accounts receivable for the debtors` payments. The result is a streamlined process which cuts down on processing time and enhances productivity."
"The Registrar of Deeds has over 50 users of Cashbook and between 120-150 accounts receivable transactions are made daily," says Tertius Zitzke, Managing Director of AccTech Systems. "Utilising Cashbook`s extensive security features only a few users are given access to posting, editing and reconsolidation of data, but all users can capture data into the system," adds Zitzke.
