Love Life, the organisation focusing on minimising the prevalence of HIV/AIDS among South African teenagers, has selected Pastel Evolution for its reporting and enhanced account management requirements.
A Pastel user for over seven years, the company says the move to Evolution is a logical step towards added functionality as well as business intelligence features that can be seamlessly integrated into the application.
Love Life is a multi-donor funded organisation and, as a result, requires a segmented general ledger to satisfy management and divisional head reporting needs. Accounts are managed around donor requirements for its various projects.
"Evolution allows Love Life to generate reports for optimal management of internal accounts and divisional operations simultaneously, while being able to consolidate these into a single set of information," says Mohammed Mosam, Evolution Product and Channel Manager at Softline Pastel.
"Pastel Evolution offers us exactly what we need for our management reporting purposes," says Amos Bonokoane, Finance Manager at Love life. "The beauty of Evolution is that all the features required for enhanced cash management and control over expenditure and income forms part of the package," he adds.
"All our payments are done via EFT. Evolution provides for the seamless updating of ledgers and reports, which ensures greater integrity with creditors and banks through improved information consistency. The movement of cash in and out our various accounts, as well as information around where we are in terms of reaching our targets, is easily viewed - and, all at the touch of button."
Management reporting and segmented analysis are components of the Pastel Business Intelligence Centre add-on module, which will be customised around Love Life`s requirements.
"We need to assess and see all the variables of expenditure in relation to budget. Pastel`s Business Intelligence Centre is a powerful management tool that enables us to see exactly what is being achieved. We now also have the ability to drill down into any particular area to bring details to the fore. Also a seamless process, it gives us first-hand information before even presenting it in a report. This ensures that our information is that much more meaningful," says Bonokoane.
