Partner with experts for effective cyber security solutions

With more ransomware, phishing attacks and network intrusion making news each day, cyber security is becoming increasingly important, yet a whopping 75% of businesses globally have been breached in the past, with most companies only realising they have been breached days after the attack.

Commenting on this, Boland Lithebe, managing executive for CyberTech, says: "There's also a widespread misconception that cyber threats only target larger organisations, yet when it comes to high-profile breaches, at least 70% of those attacks are small and medium-sized enterprises.

"Adopting a multi-disciplinary approach to cyber security and being cyber resilient will ensure organisations stay ahead of malicious entities that could threaten the environment," says Lithebe.

ITWeb Security Summit 2019

Now in its 14th year, ITWeb Security Summit brings together leading international and local experts, analysts and end-users to unpack the latest threats facing African CISOs, CIOs, security specialists and risk officers. While cyber awareness is growing, more executives are overwhelmed by the decision to either employ cyber security specialists internally or to trust experts to provide strategic end-to-end solutions that best fit their business requirements. However, studies show that organisations who recruit internal cyber security staff only roll-out a fraction of the initial plans, while partnering with experts like CyberTech, a division on JSE-listed Altron, result in quicker and long-term cost-effective results.

A point to note is that the entry point for cyber attackers can be as trivial if sensitive data is stolen and technical processes are not ready to prevent this confidential information from being compromised. Organisations need to ensure they respond to incidents faster to not only avoid severe penalties, but protect their brand reputation as well as their promise to their customers.

Delegates attending the 2019 ITWeb Security Summit at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, from 28-29 May, can find out how CyberTech can improve businesses and secure company data through various tools such as cryptographic data protection services, firewall protection services, mobile device management, forensic services and more. CyberTech's highly skilled team will be attending the summit. Its expertise spans various industry verticals, including finance, telecoms and the public sector.
