Parks agency rolls out HR self-service

The Royal Parks (TRP) agency in London is rolling out HR self-service and workflow functionality from COA Solutions, reports Personnel Today.

This HR functionality, which has a planned go-live of summer 2010, will be integrated into TRP's existing COA Solutions human capital management (HCM) system, enabling 130 staff across TRP to access the HCM system themselves.

To date, the HCM system has only been accessible by the HR team.

CSC, Savience partner for self-service

CSC has partnered with healthcare kiosk specialist Savience to expand its offering of electronic health systems designed to improve the quality and accessibility of patient information available to clinical and administrative staff, writes bjhc&im.com.

The key component of the partnership will be the delivery of self-service kiosks to NHS trusts. The kiosks enable patients to check-in automatically for an appointment and to ensure their information is as up to date as possible, including address, next of kin, ethnicity and religion.

Existing deployments have shown that self-service kiosks improve the patient experience and eliminate queues.

Bank trials intuitive touchscreen ATMs

Spanish bank BBVA has begun piloting touchscreen ATMs developed in conjunction with design consultancy Ideo, says Finextra.

In early 2007, the bank asked Ideo to re-think their self-service channel from scratch. The question was not how to further automate the teller, but rather how to humanise the machine.

Ideo says it talked to and watched customers to see how they interact with cash machines to help develop a more intuitive approach, improving privacy, ease of use and simplicity.
