Panorama Publications, publishers of titles such as SA Airlink's Skyways and PCFormat, has implemented Mimecast Unified Email Management (UEM) countrywide to improve business continuity, reduce spam and increase productivity.
UIPlay, a Mimecast partner, successfully integrated Mimecast UEM into business operations for Panorama Publications.
Panorama Publications is a full service publishing company and takes responsibility for every aspect of magazine publishing, from content creation to printing and final delivery of the magazines to customers. It has rigorous quality control, stringent production procedures and only uses the most advanced technology.
Matthew Pute, business development manager at UIPlay, says, “E-mail has become the most critical communications tool within Panorama and, in keeping with the company's commitment to high standards, it needed to ensure that there was no possibility of failure within the system.”
IT solutions company, UIPlay, has been working with Panorama Publications since 2000 and provides the organisation with domain, hosting and development services. Ronelle Brits, managing director of Unlimited Internet Play, says: “UIPlay has established a great relationship with Panorama and over the years has positioned itself as more than just an Internet service provider, but as a technology partner. We have spent many development hours and technical support time ensuring that Panorama is on the cutting edge of technology and hence the introduction of Mimecast. We believe that with the introduction of Mimecast's Unified Email Management, Panorama will now be able to concentrate on what they do best - managing their publications.”
Urs Honegger, managing director of Panorama Publications, says the choice to go with Mimecast was an easy one. “As a publications house, most of our business is done via e-mail. Important contacts for our journalists, as well as information they require to do their jobs efficiently, are all held in our e-mail system. On top of that, our advertising sales people are in daily contact with our clients via e-mail. As a company that actively espouses the move towards more environmentally-friendly business practices, we wanted to ensure that we can continue doing business using electronic document solutions, rather than having to print out contracts and the like. We use a fax-to-email solution for our contract administration to accommodate this, and therefore the importance of e-mail in our business cannot be overestimated.
“We also suffered from the problem most businesses do - spam. We found it was costing us a fortune, as spam was not being filtered out effectively at server level. We needed to control the impact on bandwidth as well as make sure that our employees were not overburdened by unnecessary inbound information, allowing them to work more efficiently,” elaborates Urs.
“Mimecast provided the best overall solution for our needs for secure data, e-mail and reduced spam to guarantee continued productivity - it is simply good governance,” concludes Urs.
