Orissa plans e-receipt system

The directorate of treasuries and inspection of the Orissa government plans to introduce an 'electronic receipt' for government taxes and fees, reports Business Standard.

The treasury portal will provide online access for electronic receipt of government dues and taxes routed through the treasury. People can also enquire the status of their bills and challenge issues online.

There won't be restrictions of access from within the system, and efforts will be made to keep the system simple to use. Further, an e-distribution of budgets will be taken up through the portal.

Funkwerk secures electronic billing

Funkwerk is helping to secure electronic health cards and billing for doctors and patients in Germany with the electronic health card (eGK), reports Ad Hoc News.

From 2011, online billing will become mandatory for the around 200 000 statutory health insurance physicians, therapists and non-medical practitioners in Germany.

The Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians is now providing KV SafeNet, enabling doctors to perform many of the tasks arising on a day-to-day basis (documentation, billing, exchange of patient data) by electronic means.
