Nigeria bullish on CM
Chevron Nigeria has trained 91 Nigerians in contract management as part of a partnership between Chevron and the Lagos Business School, states AllAfrica.
Chevron has opted to play a pivotal role in local capacity building as the Nigerian Federal Government insisted on the training.
Kayode Odukoya, Chevron's GM, says: "Apart from facilitating partnerships and alliances between indigenous companies and foreign firms with the purpose of building leadership skill and technical expertise, our strategic objective is geared towards the establishment of an enduring legacy of self sustainable indigenous companies which can compete in the global market."
Execs to help healthcare centre
Financially troubled Champlain Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) in Ontario has roped in Cameron Love to act as its chief executive, reports Ottawa Citizen.
One of Love's first duties is to come up with a plan to improve staffing practices, contract management and spending controls at the CCAC.
Last month after the centre overspent its budget by $6.5 million and had to scale back services for 56 000 sick patients.
ManageEngine rolls out CM suite
Software solutions provider ManageEngine has unveiled ServiceDesk Plus, a Web-based help desk and IT asset management solution, says Earth Times.
ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus is a Web-based integrated package, including contract management, incident and service request management, self-service portal, and IT asset management.
Jayakumar Karumbasalam, product manager of ManageEngine, says: "Managed service providers are looking for a solution that manages multiple IT environments with the capability to configure each account separately, and without the long implementation times and high price tags.”
