New Dawn Prophesy starts 2008 with a clean slate

New Dawn Prophesy Business Solutions (Prophesy) started 2008 with a change in leadership and a redefined strategic focus. Newly appointed Managing Director of Prophesy, Deon Ferreira, and his rejuvenated management team are fully supporting the turnaround strategy that was implemented by New Dawn Holdings.

This turnaround strategy will enable them to understand the critical causes of challenges, in order to stem losses and restore growth. With their redefined strategic focus, they are re-evaluating the company's business and deciding what to change and what to retain.

An overall policy of transparency in business operations and strategies is also being put into practice.

The positive effect of the turnaround strategy is already visible through signed partnerships with Xpedia, Edge Consulting and ANCO, as well as successful solution delivery for North West Provincial Legislator (NWPL) and project signoff from SITA.

Over the last couple of months, there was a reduction in staff turnover and the company was strengthened by the appointment of competent senior staff members.

The company's new open door policy guarantees and provides employees with access to any manager including the CEO from NDH. The purpose of the open door policy is to encourage open communication, feedback and discussion about any matter of importance without repercussions for employees. There will no longer be any barriers or blockages preventing employees from freely talking to any manager at any time.

It was the lack of an open door policy that resulted in the application for liquidation brought against Prophesy by former employees in 2006. At the time, these employees did not have the necessary communication channels to address grievances regarding bonuses and leave payments and it led to legal action being taken against the company.

In 2007 a settlement was reached between the former employees and Prophesy and the application for liquidation has subsequently been withdrawn. Both parties agreed on the conditions and ultimately a functional working relationship was restored.

"It was important to both parties to ensure that the outcome resulted in a win-win situation and that we could continue to work together on future agreements. There is a great synergy between ourselves and Prophesy and we anticipate strong results from maintaining this relationship," says Gerhard Buitendag, former employer of Prophesy.

"Collaboration among the Oracle resource pool and the partners in South Africa is of vital importance to face the challenges from the growing customer base. The successful resolution of this issue is an important milestone in the quest for collaboration in the Oracle market, this will ultimately result in the capability to provide Oracle solutions in South Africa on par with any other Oracle forum in the world," agrees Deon Ferreira, Managing Director of Prophesy.
