New automotive wins for IFS

Following its recent deal with BMW in Germany, IFS closed new orders for IFS Applications with MG Rover and BMW in the UK. The initial value of the two orders is $1.5 million.

The BMW contract is signed with the Swindon pressing plant. It covers licences and implementation services for a full business application including components for sales and marketing, financials, manufacturing, distribution, engineering, human resources and maintenance.

Rover Group, recently sold by BMW, is starting to replace its old legacy systems. The solution includes IFS Financials, IFS HR and Purchasing and will be implemented in the Longbridge vehicle assembly plant.

"These orders show that we have a highly competitive product for the automotive industry. We won in tough competition with the most respected suppliers by scoring higher on functionality and flexibility of our portal based user interface," said Alastair Sorbie, Managing Director of IFS UK.
