Network Configurations grows IT services business by 110% in six months using Kaseya

Kaseya IT automation platform enables IT service provider to offer new services, expand business geographically and set itself apart from competitors

Network Configurations has grown its IT services business by 110% in the last six months by implementing the Kaseya IT Automation Framework to centralise the management, monitoring and support for all its customers. This approach has helped Network Configurations to expand its new business drive to include customers outside of the local area and effectively scale up its business, without increasing the number of support staff.

Using the Kaseya framework, Network Configurations is remotely and centrally managing more than 1 000 PCs and servers from its offices in Westville, KwaZulu-Natal. The single Web-based interface has dramatically increased the company's visibility of customers' IT environments, which in turn has enabled Network Configurations to significantly reduce on-site visits to customers and expand into new regions that would previously have been too geographically diverse to physically manage.

Customer service has also improved, as Network Configurations is able to constantly monitor every client network, so potential problems are identified and remedied before they have a direct impact on their clients' business. This minimises downtime and ensures that all client PCs and servers can be proactively supported 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The subsequent increase in IT reliability for their customers sets Network Configurations apart from its competitors that tend to operate a less efficient break/fix support model.

Using the Kaseya framework, Network Configurations has also scheduled automated processes and tasks to take place across client sites simultaneously, such as patch management, virus detection and software audits, which is ensuring customers continuously receive seamless support and their IT environments are up to date and secure. This has also freed up support engineers from routine maintenance to focus on providing more value-added services for their customers.

“We needed a reliable platform that would enable us to take on new business, scale quickly and effectively,” said Iain Emerson from Network Configurations. “Kaseya gave us that peace of mind and allowed us to offer customers a fully managed service with confidence, setting us apart from our competitors as KZN's leading managed service provider for small and medium-sized businesses. So far, about 60 customers have migrated to our INSIGHT Managed Services offering, because of the extra services, guarantees and additional value we can offer through our INSIGHT Managed Services Framework built on Kaseya.”

Key features of the Kaseya automation framework include:

* Automated patch management
* Easy scripting for scheduling and automating tasks
* Automated hardware inventory and software inventory and audits
* System monitoring and event alerts
* Secure, encrypted remote control
* Management reporting
* Powerful anti-virus and anti-spyware detection
* Backup and disaster recovery

Garth Hayward, Regional Manager Africa, Kaseya, adds: “Using the Kaseya framework, companies like Network Configurations can provide customers with services that would once have been reserved only for enterprise-level organisations due to its enhanced automation and network optimisation. By remotely managing customer networks, Network Configurations has reduced the need for onsite visits and expanded its customer base to bring managed IT services to small and medium-sized business in KwaZulu-Natal and beyond.”
