Premier ACCPAC solution provider, AccTech Systems, in partnership with the AST Group, recently won the tender to streamline the financial back-office of Central de Medicamentos e Artigos M'edicos (CMAM) - an arm of the Mozambique Ministry of Health.
"CMAM opted for ACCPAC Advantage Series (AAS) Enterprise Edition (EE) in conjunction with AccTech eWorkflow," says Tertius Zitzke, Managing Director of AccTech Systems. "ACCPAC will be deployed at the department`s head office in Maputo, while AST`s logistics system will also be rolled out at sites across Mozambique."
"CMAM purchases medical supplies from suppliers throughout the world. The warehousing and procurement logistics systems we are designing will handle the procurement, storage and distribution of these medical supplies," says Koos la Grange, project manager for AST. "CMAM has three central warehouses and 10 provincial warehouses. From these 10 provincial warehouses, medical supplies are distributed to various health units throughout the country," he adds.
"Mozambique is predominantly Portuguese-speaking," adds La Grange. "Implementing ACCPAC enabled CMAM to deploy enterprise-wide reporting, budgeting and forecasting in either Portuguese or English - one of the major reasons why the department opted for the package."
According to Dimitri Peffer, CMAM Project Manager, AccTech`s eWorkflow module for Advances and Claims will be used for internal control purposes by the finance department. "AccTech has also developed a module to assist us in accurate budgeting for activities, as well as advanced budget maintenance," he adds.
"Together, AccTech and AST are developing a full ERP system for CMAM," says Peffer. The new systems will ensure centralised control over all aspects of CMAM`s operations."
