Former National Consumer Commissioner and Department of Communications DG Mamodupi Mohlala-Mulaudzi will be interviewed for the position of Water Tribunal chairperson, reports the Sunday Independent.
The paper says she is among six candidates to be interviewed by the Judicial Services Commission next month.
The commission will then make a recommendation to Water and Environmental Affairs minister Edna Molewa.
It reports Mohlala-Mulaudzi was recently appointed chairperson of the Gauteng Rental Housing Tribunal and consults to the Public Service and Administration Department.
Under her watch, the National Consumer Commission (NCC) lost several matters in front of the National Consumer Tribunal because it had not followed procedures laid out in the Consumer Protection Act.
Mohlala-Mulaudzi was axed from the department towards the end of 2010 and then appointed NCC commissioner.
She had a controversial row with Trade and Industry over the duration of her contract, losing out in her bid to remain commissioner.
