International mobile and technology community, MoCo Moments, will host a Johannesburg Meetup event next week.
Scheduled for 30 March at Katy's Palace Bar in Sandton, the event will feature keynotes from OrderIn, Snapscan and Discovery Health. There will also be round-table workshops.
The talks will focus on the future of mobile, mobile marketing and mobile services.
MoCo Moments has already held events in Brussels, London and Paris. It launched in 2015 and was founded by Dutch mobile services company CM Telecom. The MoCo community was set up in 2010 by CM to share know-how and stimulate cross-pollination among industry professionals.
CM Telecom SA country manager James Bayhack says an event held in Cape Town late last year was the first MoCo Moments event outside Europe, and Johannesburg will be the second.
The company hopes to expand MoCo Moments to Brussels and Hong Kong.
"Without question, mobile is the future, so for me, MoCo is the perfect environment to start conversations and thought leadership."
He says MoCo Moments is differentiated from other mobile conferences because it is not trying to sell attendees a product.
"MoCo gives people a chance to get to know others who work in mobile. MoCo wants to provide a stage on which you can share know-how and enthusiasm. Together, we give broad insights into the future mobile landscape and show opportunities for new technology and applications," the company says in a statement.
MoCo hopes attendees will leave with practical tips and tricks that can be put into practice right away.
