Mira Networks, a leading aggregator wireless application service provider (WASP), is now able to send bulk SMS messages to landlines on behalf of its clients.
"Marketers will find this new application appealing as the consumer will be highly receptive to this novel form of commercial communication.
"Consumers are so used to receiving bulk SMS messages that they often don`t give these messages the attention they deserve. Bulk SMS to landlines has the advantage of the consumer being more alert while listening to the spoken message," said Sean Conde, CEO of Mira Networks.
The business benefits of using bulk SMS tools in general are myriad and include the ability to control costs, boost return on investment and enhance below the line marketing. Rather than an optional marketing tool, this hints at bulk SMS being a hardcore business imperative.
Mr Conde assured consumers that Mira Networks would not transmit any bulk SMS messages to landlines on behalf of its clients after 21h00.
"Mira Network`s multiple redundant links to telecoms networks, off site back-up systems and round-the-clock technical assistance mean that it is able to ensure that bulk SMS messages will be delivered on time and never at unreasonable hours," explained Mr Conde.
Bulk SMS messages transmitted to landlines include a mechanism for the recipient to opt-out of the transmission list. The commercial message is spoken by an easy to understand computer-generated voice.
Aggregators offer other WASPs and corporate clients connectivity to the customers of all three South African cellular networks across a range of technologies including SMS and MMS.
