Mindspeed sells non-core patents
Mindspeed Technologies, a supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, has completed the sale of certain non-core patents for $2 million, which will be reported in the company's fourth quarter revenues, says Trading Markets.
The patent sale agreement includes potential future Mindspeed revenues derived from licensing royalties. Specific terms of the sale are confidential.
Mindspeed has a broad intellectual property portfolio with a number of patents which are no longer core to its business focus. For the past year, the company has generated revenues from patent sales and expects to enter into additional strategic non-core patent sales or licensing arrangements in the future.
Rivulet signs Choicecomm
Rivulet Communications, whose technology enables real-time services delivery over IP networks, has signed Maryland-based Choicecomm as a new channel partner, states PRWeb.
Choicecomm provides customers with a single knowledgeable resource for researching, obtaining, and servicing IT and communication networking transmission products.
The agreement enables Choicecomm to provide its military, intelligence and civilian federal agency clients with Rivulet's complete suite of networking products.
Tw telecom deploys Ethernet for Loni
Tw telecom, a US-based provider of managed voice, Internet and data networking solutions, has deployed a 600Mb Ethernet connection to the Louisiana Optical Network Initiative (Loni), reports redOrbit.
Loni will deploy and manage tw telecom's Internet solution to connect Louisiana's 12 research universities in order to improve collaboration on research projects.
Mike Nictakis, VP and GM for tw telecom in Louisiana, says: "Loni and its affiliated colleges and universities have a fast and reliable 1Gbps interface to our nationwide network that will further enable them in their mission to support the education of students across Louisiana."
