The McCarthy Group, SA`s second largest retailer of motor cars, has awarded BIDVest Network Solutions an outsourcing contract worth R36 million over three years.
BIDVest Network Solutions will provide the McCarthy Group with a total wide area networking solution that will connect all 145 outlets (including Budget Rent-A-Car, Yamaha Distributors and Burchmore Car Auctions), as well as the highly important links (16 in total), with motor manufacturers and component suppliers.
The service will incorporate the provisioning of network connectivity to over 2 500 users throughout the McCarthy Group for Internet and e-mail. Critical business applications will also make use of the BIDVest Network Solutions network.
CEO of BIDVest Network Solutions, Gareth Griffiths, commented that McCarthy was more that satisfied with the solution provided by BNS. The BNS state of the art network is Cisco MPLS enabled and will more than cater for the needs of McCarthy, both now and into the future.
