Matus drops its missing POD rate by 95%

Solutions for Business Intelligence (SBi), a subsidiary of ERP.com, today announced that Matus had utilised its image capturing and filing solutions for its 'proof of delivery' (POD) notes with dramatic end results.

"Our loss rate on POD notes has dropped by 95%," commented Lorna Hutley, Financial Director of Matus. "This, therefore, has resulted in significant financial benefits arising from the reduction in the amount of paper that is handled as well as from the time savings that have occurred. In addition, we are also using the software and solutions from SBi for our credit notes and are in the process of evaluating its use for our staff information."

"We are obviously delighted at the tangible benefits that Matus have achieved through the exploitation of our software and services," added Tony Nutter, MD of SBi. "Many of our customers are experiencing similar results, although not necessarily as dramatic as those of Matus, thus creating more effective and efficient operations, particularly from an administration perspective."

Matus, established in 1942, is a wholesaler and distributor of hand tools, power tools, garden tools, compressors, generators, air tools, welders and welding accessories.

Matus strives to be a one-stop shop for its customers. To this end a wide variety of products is carried of up to 22 000 line items (including spare parts), affording the customer the opportunity of three varying quality and price levels. There are currently 6 000 active customers which range from hardware stores, industrial supply companies, hire shops, spare shops, co-operatives, nurseries and buying groups. Customers are serviced through any of Matus' four branches located in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth with an approximate 95% order fill rate being achieved across the board.
