The Grinaker-LTA Earthworks Plant operation in Jet Park, Johannesburg, has contracted mid-market ERP solutions provider Lorge to install and implement a financial costing and reporting software solution.
A company in the Grinaker-LTA multi-disciplinary construction and engineering group, Grinaker-LTA Earthworks Plant now has an Accpac project job-costing module and Insight report writer module which Lorge has supplied, installed and commissioned to operate seamlessly with the company`s existing Accpac ERP software installation.
"Information regarding earthmoving equipment and other plant allocated to group companies operating in the field had previously been kept in the General Ledger of the accounting package, which was not the ideal solution," said Lorge account manager Ana Jonker.
"Now that the project job-costing and Insight report writer modules are in place, Grinaker-LTA Earthworks Plant is able to track at any point in time specific plant items, their whereabouts, how long they have been on a site, at what cost and when the plant is due to be returned. The process is now highly streamlined and saves time and administrative costs."
Insight is essentially a Microsoft Excel add-in reporting tool. It will allow Grinaker-LTA Earthworks Plant to create financial and accounting reports based on predefined report templates using data which is created from accounting information contained in the ACCPAC system. Customised reports can also be easily created.
Lorge has also been contracted to provide ongoing services and support for the software solution. Focused on infrastructure, energy and mining opportunities in Africa, Grinaker-LTA employs over 18 000 people and has an annual turnover of US$1 billion. The group is 75% owned by Aveng Limited, a public company listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange and 25% by a Tiso Group led BEE consortium.
