National retail packaging specialist Ace Packaging has contracted mid-market ERP business and technology solutions provider Lorge to supply, install and commission an Accpac ERP 500 financial and accounting software solution at its Durban branch.
The Ace Packaging headquarters at Ferndale, Johannesburg, has used Accpac financial software for the past five years. The company, registered in 1996, provides more than 800 retail packaging lines to major retailers countrywide, including Spar and Pick 'n Pay. It also services several smaller franchise businesses, as well as other general food retail outlets.
The 10-user Accpac solution for Durban includes general ledger, debtors, creditors, order entry, purchase orders and inventory. Lorge's Accpac director, Derek Porter, said Ace Packaging, as one of the largest retail packaging companies in the country, required a solution that includes a highly complex facility catering for multiple price lists and discount structures.
"This facility gives the company tight, accurate control of its discounts and prices over a wide range of customers. It also enables Ace Packaging to provide its national retail customers with a single statement to the retailer's headquarters and a specific invoice to each individual store in the chain."
