The Benoni-based subsidiary of European international forklift attachment and fork manufacturer Bolzoni-Auramo has contracted branded business and technology solutions provider and implementer Lorge to supply, install and implement a Microsoft Dynamics Navision ERP financial and accounting software solution.
A major objective of the software installation for Bolzoni-Auramo SA will be to automate and centralise all data relating to inventory and manufacturing, according to Louise de Bruin, manager of Lorge`s MS Dynamics Navision division. The solution is expected to go live at the end of February 2009.
"The MS Dynamics Navision solution is well suited to Bolzoni-Auramo`s local needs," said de Bruin. "It will provide general ledger, debtors and creditors, fixed assets, sales, purchases, inventory and manufacturing. The overall fit for the business is excellent so there will be minimal need for customisation."
Bolzoni-Auramo is listed on the Italian Stock Exchange and has an annual turnover of about EUR120 million (about R1.4 billion). Locally, the East Rand factory assembles a variety of forklift attachments and tailor-made variations for specific local needs. The attachments range from multi-pallet handlers, rotators, carton and appliance clamps for the safe and damage-free handling of white goods, to bale clamps, paper roll clamps and sideshifts.
Multi-pallet handlers supplied by Bolzoni-Auramo SA are used by Amalgamated Beverage Industries for the stacking and loading of beverage cartons, and the company has the technology to design and produce customer-specific solutions. For ABI, Auramo designed and produced a forklift model with wider frame and fork spread, allowing wider pallets to be handled and achieving significant reductions in handling time.
The Lorge solution will also cater for future needs, including bringing the Bolzoni-Auramo branches located at Durban and Cape Town into online financial reporting within the company`s MS Dynamics Navision system.
