The horticultural services division of integrated support services group Servest, comprising Turftek, Real Landscapes and The Office Plant, has contracted ACCPAC financial software reseller and solutions provider Lorge to upgrade its accounting software system.
ACCPAC Advantage series 5.2 will be installed on a terminal server configuration at the Servest Greens Offices in Randburg, Johannesburg. The terminal server environment, says Lorge account manager Eugene Olivier, enables the horticultural division operations in other centres such as Durban and Cape Town to remotely access the ACCPAC software as and when required.
"The software will be installed centrally on the terminal server computer, which can then be accessed from remote workstations at divisional operations in other centres using secure access procedures and passwords."
An electronic funds transfer (EFT) software program developed by Lorge`s specialist enterprise software and middleware development division, ACCtivity, will also be installed. Known as EFT Manager, the module facilitates quick and cost-effective electronic payments to vendors and suppliers.
Turftek provides professional maintenance services to large sports complexes and golf courses, supplying all plant, machinery and equipment and expertise in soil science, horticulture, turfgrass management and engineering. Real Landscapes designs, installs and maintains exterior plantscapes while The Office Plant sells, rents and maintains interior plantscapes. Both have won major awards for their work.
