Liquix partners with Postilion to offer payment processing

Multi-channel prepay and value-added services for telecom operators and retailers across Europe.

Postilion, a leading provider of transaction processing solutions and a division of S1 Corporation (NASDAQ: SONE), today announced that Liquix, a provider of payment services to the telecom and energy markets, is using Postilion as the payments processing engine for its customers across Europe.

Postilion software was chosen for its flexibility, reliability, and the speed with which new prepay and reload services could be brought to market.

Liquix has developed a strong range of channels for delivering prepaid top-up payments, including reloads via SMS, interactive voice response (IVR) systems, and point-of-sale (POS) terminals.

In addition, Liquix has created innovative systems to allow customers to manage their reloads automatically: amounts can be paid into customer accounts whenever the balance drops below a certain level or at a specific date each month.

Liquix currently processes payments and top-up requests on behalf of more than a dozen organisations, including telecom operators such as BASE in Belgium and mobile virtual network operators like Ayyildiz and Simyo. Liquix is also responsible for providing prepaid electricity and gas top-up payment services on behalf of Essent, the leading Dutch household energy provider.

Joggie Taute, CEO of Liquix, said: "Our approach to satisfying our customers is totally dependent on the ability to offer higher levels of service compared to the rest of the market. This depends on having the most flexible and robust system available for processing payments. Postilion meets these needs and allows us to be extremely fast in the market at offering new channels and services for end-users to make payments. Our experience with Postilion, and the fact that the organisation has been so reliable, also allows us to be more aggressive when it comes to setting service level agreements and pricing."

Manager of e-channels at BASE, Geert Troffaes, said: "Liquix provided us with a total solution for managing our prepay channels and making it easier for end-users to manage their accounts. This covered all our requirements and provided secure, quick, low-cost, and customer-oriented solutions for prepaid top-up. By working with Liquix and Postilion, we save time and money that we prefer to invest in our day-to-day relationship with the BASE customer."

"At Postilion, we understand that processing payments is more than just routing funds from point A to point B," commented Grant Wyatt, General Manager EME for Postilion. "It's about offering innovative services that differentiate providers in their market. Liquix relies on being the first to market with new approaches to customer interaction, and the fact that Postilion offers an application based on open systems makes this far easier. On average, Liquix can bring new services to market in about four to six weeks, which gives Liquix and its customers a unique competitive advantage."

Liquix is planning to expand the range of payment services it runs on Postilion. "Most recently, we have started to offer POS reloads at customer sites, which expands the number of routes through which end-users can interact with their suppliers," said Taute. "We plan to keep expanding this range of services and, in the future, plan to offer more opportunities for our customers to build new and profitable services around gift and stored value cards."
