LG Electronics has unveiled the R200 12.1-inch wide-screen notebook, built on the Intel Santa Rosa platform (Centrino Duo or Pro) and weighing a mere 1.91kg.
The sassy little number comes in a black and white combination with a dual high-gloss finish. The R200 has embedded Intel Turbo memory providing high efficiency and fast wireless access to the Internet. This machine is easy to carry from home to office then to coffee shop promoting true mobile computing.
The R200 features touch-sensitive buttons, reminiscent of the LG Chocolate phone. This notebook allows for a variety of entertainment functions such as MP3 playback, viewing of images and mini games.
The ultra-light R200 spots on its top cover, a secondary 2.5-inch auxiliary LCD display panel. This LCD takes advantage of Windows Vista's Sideshow technology, allowing access to files and Outlook information without having to log onto the operating system. Windows Vista Sideshow is a new technology that supports a secondary screen on a mobile PC.
This notebook is available in South Africa and the price tag is estimated at R10 000.
