Kodak extends home office printer line

Kodak has extended its All-in-One Inkjet Printer portfolio for the home office business market with the Kodak ESP Office 6150 AiO Printer, reports PR Newswire.

The printing company says it can save consumers on average $110 per year on ink with its lowest total ink replacement cost, based on as few as four pages per day.

Kodak says the ESP Office 6150 complements mobile lifestyles with both WiFi and Ethernet connectivity, enabling printing from multiple sources. The system also supports WiFi printing from BlackBerry smartphones. Consumers can also print photos from an iPhone and iPod Touch with the Kodak Pic Flick application.

Human tissue printer unveiled

A company called Invetech have created what looks to be a human tissue printer that works in a similar way to how 3D printers work, says Gadget Venue.

The system is capable of building up human organs cell by cell to create scaffolds that liver cells could be placed on.

Regular 3D printers use plastic that is built up layer by layer over the course of the printing session to create unique 3D objects. The new system replaces this '3D ink' with living cells so that doctors can print human tissue on demand.

Epson India intros SME printer

Epson has released its Ethernet-ready multi-function inkjet printer, the Epson Stylus Office TX-510FN, which is designed for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), states NewKerala.

N Sambamoorthy, senior GM of sales and marketing for Epson India, says: "These printers have been developed especially for small and medium enterprises where people can enjoy hassle-free copying, scanning, colour faxing and printing with great affordability."

The Ethernet connectivity helps offices to overcome concerns about space constraints by allowing multiple PCs to access a common printer.
