Information asset management solution provider Knowledge Focus has partnered with UK-based Vigorat to help companies make their businesses stronger by developing intranets that are aligned with their strategic direction and can drive knowledge discovery.

"Vigorat understands the integral role intranets play in organisations and specialises in developing a wide variety of intranets that deliver measurable results," says Knowledge Focus managing director Piet Dempsey. "The company helps organisations capture and share their knowledge and exploit it to meet strategic objectives.

"This is synergistic with our information retrieval solutions from US-based Convera, and makes for a powerful management tool that assists companies in unleashing the wealth of mission-critical information locked in their documents and records.

"Today`s employees have far too many documents to read and without the support of more advanced tools in their search solutions, relevance ranking becomes increasingly difficult," he continues. "RetrievalWare`s knowledge discovery platform combines proven search and categorisation capabilities with dynamic classification methodology to help organisations automate knowledge management and discovery processes."

"Most companies have an intranet of some sort, but are disappointed with what it delivers," says Vigorat co-founder and CEO Dr Richard Miller. "A good intranet helps deliver the corporate strategy and provides the tools and information to help increase sales, cut costs and motivate staff to higher performance.

"Leveraging the functionality of RetrievalWare together with Knowledge Focus` expertise in intellectual asset management, will enable us to help organisations find the right information at the right time to ensure informed decision-making and further enhance the value of their intranet investment."
