JC Broadband Services (JCB) announced it will launch a residential and business telephony service using a third party fully managed end-to-end VOIP service.
The service provides an alternative to conventional telephone services, allowing customers to make and receive international calls to or from any phone around the world in a similar manner to traditional residential phones.
VOIP technology allows the customer to benefit from savings, compared to the cost of their current phone service, and allows them to use the phone and surf the Internet simultaneously without interruptions.
JCB will host a seminar on 30 November 2007, from 1:00pm to 3:30pm, at 220, 2nd Street, Randjiespark, Halfway House, Midrand, to discuss the launch details. Those wishing to attend should contact Emmanuel Shiri by e-mail at eshiri@alignafrica.com, or call 011 695 4883.
"We are excited to be able to finally enable our customers to take advantage of their broadband Internet access to make inexpensive international calls," said Dr Jabulani Dhliwayo, a partner at JC Broadband. "Before our launch in January 2008, selected current JC Broadband Internet access customers will be provided with devices to try the system," he said.
JCB`s Senior Technical Consultant Emmanuel Shiri also said: "As bandwidth prices get to be cheaper with every day that goes-by, we felt it was our responsibility to provide an alternative to the conventional telephone service to our current and future customers, by providing reasonably cheaper international call rates through the use of the modern Internet and VOIP technologies"
JCB will offer subscribers a choice of several calling plans, with packages at fixed price per month, which includes unlimited calling to a selected international destination, discounted long-distance calling and many premium calling features at no additional cost. Customers can choose telephone numbers from countries all over the world. For example, a South African company with customers in England could obtain a UK phone number for service and support. This is also an ideal service for call centres.
The service currently offers phone numbers from:
USA, Canada, Finland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Argentina, Chile, France, Mexico, Spain, Australia, Cyprus, Guatemala, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Norway, Switzerland, Brazil, Denmark, Israel, Peru, Turkey, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, UK.
In addition, the service provides popular calling features such as: VoiceMail, Reach me, Automatic callback, Call return, Call waiting, Call forwarding, Caller ID, 3-way calling, Anonymous call blocking, Speed dial, Call transfer and Do not disturb.
