Mobile commerce service developer, iTouch, has acquired a 51% share in e-commerce site developer, DigitalMall.com. The online mall also announced new sites, including clicknpay.net and the second phase of virtualflorist.co.za.
iTouch is a developer of enhanced services for mobile telephones, including voice, Short Message Service and Wireless Application Protocol. The company is the training arm of the Independent News and Media Group, and is currently engaged in an aggressive programme of international expansion.
The company will use the acquisition as a blueprint for developing its products overseas, benefiting from its shareholder`s extensive international media interests in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
DigitalMall.com will benefit from iTouch`s exposure in print, radio and online media and access to overseas markets.
"This will give us access to the Independent Media and News Group worldwide and to 14 of SA`s largest publications including Independent Online initiatives. It actually means over three million page impressions will land at DigitalMall.com`s door," says Garin Theron, marketing director at DigitalMall.com.
Partners of DigitalMall.com include Incredible Connection, Telecom 911, Nandos, Digital Cupboard, Virtual Florist, and Look and Listen.
"DigitalMall.com`s core offering is eTail store management with the focus on permission marketing. This covers full-time dedicated store managers, as well as call centre, outsourcing, logistics and fulfilment, or delivery, of orders," says Yaron Assabi, MD of DigitalMall.com.
