iPad dubbed 'future of medicine'
Health informatics hope the iPad, Apple's new tablet computer, will resolve inefficiency within hospitals and help those who need it most: patients, writes 6Minutes.
Dubbed by some as the 'future of medicine', the iPad's large screen combined with the move towards e-health and centralised databases could mean easier access to medical records and charts for doctors on the go, moving away from paper records.
The portable and lightweight machine can connect to the Internet, and could be easily swabbed and disinfected. With the development of apps, it's likely that ordering tests, viewing radiology films, reading journal articles, showing patients their x-rays, entering clinical notes, could be possible from the iPad.
British health dept awaits MS patch
The British Department of Health has issued a bulletin to its National Health Service staff recommending they stop using Internet Explorer 6 until the necessary security patch can be downloaded, as part of a wider European pullback from the browser due to security concerns, reports eWeek.
Following news in January that a zero-day bug in Internet Explorer had been exploited in intensive attacks against Google and other companies, both France and Germany advised their citizens to stop using Internet Explorer until a patch could be issued.
The British Department of Health's bulletin advised any organisations continuing to use Internet Explorer 6 to download the necessary security update patch.
