Kaweah Delta Health Care District in Visalia, California, is to deploy more than 100 of the Apple items to its health workers, PC World reports.

STS, Umniah deploy virtualisation tech

Jordan telecom service provider Umniah Mobile Company, in cooperation with STS, a systems integrator and enterprise solutions provider, has deployed Microsoft's Hyper-V virtualisation technology, writes Eye of Dubai.

Utilising Microsoft server virtualisation technology, Umniah can make better use of its server system, which will ultimately enhance the company's performance while reducing its dependence on hardware.

For the first phase of the project, the STS team studied and assessed Umniah's infrastructure in order to select the most effective and efficient solution using Microsoft technology.

VIA intros Nano e-series processor

VIA Technologies has released the VIA Nano e-series processor, which brings native 64-bit software support, virtualisation capabilities and extended longevity support to embedded markets, states Electronics Talk.

The VIA Nano e-series also supports VIA VT virtualisation technology, allowing legacy software and applications to be used in virtual scenarios without impacting on performance.

The company said the move to 64-bit software architecture is an essential transition for the future of the embedded industry.
