InterSystems Summit to focus on adaptability

Virtual event keynotes offer insight into modern healthcare systems in a pandemic era.

InterSystems, the information engine that powers some of the world’s most important applications, is pleased to announce its annual event is now virtual. Customers can carve out time in their diaries to enjoy insightful content and hear from leading experts on how technology has aided InterSystems customers to combat, fight and even do vaccine research in this time of COVID-19.

Kicking off on 20 October 2020, this year’s event focus will be on "Creating an Adaptive Organisation" and is set to explore what makes businesses thrive amid disruption, the ways InterSystems’ technology can help you adapt, and how to make your enterprise nimble and responsive to challenges and opportunities.

Henry Adams, Country Manager of InterSystems in South Africa, said: “In the past, these large global events have only been accessible by a handful of customers able to travel. Today we are thrilled to be able to extend this invite to our Virtual Summit to all of our customers, partners and potential clients across Africa. I am looking forward to hosting you at what promises to be an informative event with an opportunity to connect with InterSystems executives and learn about our strategic direction going forward.”

With more than 70 technical focus sessions divided into all product areas, including security, speed and scalability, DevOps, TrakCare, HealthShare, Data Platform Overview, data and analytics, FHIR/Interoperability and cloud, it is an ideal digital venue for the tech-savvy executive, technical managers, developers or systems integrators. The primary keynotes will run from 20-22 October, with the focus sessions falling on 27-29 October.

What to expect:

Our expert-filled keynotes will touch on how the world is navigating new ground as a result of the pandemic, as well as the lessons learnt – such as adaptability. Speakers include:

  • Dr Bruce Walker, founding director of the Ragon Institute of Harvard, MGH and MIT, which is currently working on a COVID-19 vaccine. He will tell us about the quest for a COVID vaccine and the need for agility in life sciences.
  • Fiona Murray, MIT Professor and an authority on the transformation of investments in scientific and technical innovation into entrepreneurship. She will discuss the need for adaptability in the business world.
  • COVID-19 session: A catalyst for innovation, Dr Lloyd McCann, CEO, Mercy Radiology and Clinics.

These highly sought-after guests will be joined on the main virtual stage by InterSystems experts Terry Ragon, CEO and founder; Don Woodlock, head of Healthcare solutions; Scott Gnau, head of data platforms; and John Paladino, head of client services.

For those customers looking to gain even further insights, the event will extend to an “Ask the Experts” themed set of sessions, running on 30 October and 2 November, and from 2-5 November, they can participate in five different virtual Experience Labs. These Labs allow for greater insights into InterSystems’ newest technologies, namely: API Manager, InterSystems IntegratedML, InterSystems HealthShare Provider Directory, InterSystems Reports, and VSCode. Perfect for technical individuals looking to further their knowledge.

Registration is free and the virtual conference app will allow you to build your own schedule and receive reminders about the events in which you enrol. Registered attendees will receive one free certification exam attempt, redeemable until 31 December 2020.
