IT Wise, the Sub-Saharan distributor for Neoware, today announced that International Healthcare Distributors (IHD) had standardised on Neoware as its preferred supplier for thin client terminals.
"We initially installed 50 Neoware terminals in our main warehouse some time ago and are extremely satisfied with their performance since then, despite some early teething problems related to hardware incompatibilities," commented Carine van Zyl, the IS infrastructure manager at IHD.
"In our original evaluation for the purchase of thin client terminals," continued Van Zyl, "our selection criteria included the ability to communicate and integrate with our `in-house` developed core systems, the quality of the after-sales support that was available, as well as the total cost of ownership.
"We will be opening an additional warehouse shortly in Johannesburg (Longmeadow) and will be installing about another 20 terminals in that location as well," concluded Van Zyl.
IHD was formed in 1993 and is a finished goods logistics service provider to a number of multinational pharmaceutical manufacturers. It currently distributes to end dispensers such as pharmacists, doctors and clinics on behalf of Abbott Laboratories, Bayer Healthcare, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bristol-Myers Squibb, EAS, Eli Lilly, Genop Healthcare, MSD, Novartis, Nutrimax, Pfizer, Pharmaco, Roche, Schering, Schering-Plough, Wyeth South Africa and companies in the sanofi-aventis group.
The company operates nationally from five distribution centres within South Africa (Johannesburg (Linbro Park), Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban), and employs nearly 500 people around the country.
