Munters, the humidity specialists, is continuing to roll-out IFS Applications to improve efficiency and agility, and has signed an agreement to implement the solution in its Asian operations.
Munters first implemented IFS Applications in 2000, and it is now in use in 14 countries in Europe and in South Africa. IFS Applications will be implemented in Munters' operations in Australia during the fall of 2006, to be followed by Japan and the People's Republic of China.
Today, Munters uses IFS Applications components to plan, control and follow up manufacturing, distribution, finances, installations and service. Manufacturing facilities are located, among other places, in Sweden, Italy, Germany and PR China. Sales and installations are carried out by subsidiaries in 30 countries, and almost 50% of company revenue derives from its independent service operations.
Per Solbu, business applications director at Munters, said: "We intend to standardise and streamline our business processes in Asia. Besides the 'traditional' manufacturing, sale and installation of equipment, a large part of our operations consists of water and fire damage restoration at customer sites. Munters is very definitely a decentralised service organisation, and it takes modern, agile systems to follow up operations worldwide. Our goal is to accelerate communication and information exchange, improve control and shorten lead times."
The service and facilities management industry is one of IFS's targeted vertical market segments. IFS Applications provides service companies with a complete, integrated and agile solution for issue handling, contract management and asset management. Moreover, the resource planning functionality enables service companies to offer their customers the highest possible service levels through efficient planning of personnel and resources. IFS Applications also offers solutions for field service technicians, who can access critical service information online and offline. Existing IFS customers in the industry include Debut Services, Dalkia, Anticimex, Kalmar Industries and NEC-Philips Unified Solutions.
