IFS Applications selected by Heerema Fabrication Group

Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG), which specialises in the engineering and fabrication of large and complex structures for the global offshore oil and gas industry, has selected IFS Applications as its new enterprise applications system.

HFG will implement a more agile system for managing construction more efficiently and support further growth as an engineering, procurement, construction, installation (EPCI) contractor. The total value of the contract is US $6 million.

The contract includes a clause allowing HFG to cancel the contract after a pilot phase, which will be carried out in the second quarter of 2007.

HFG will use IFS Applications to support project management, procurement, materials management, fabrication, finance, and human resource processes. IFS Applications will be used at the company's three sites in Zwijndrecht and Vlissingen in the Netherlands, and Hartlepool in the UK.

"We selected IFS from over 25 enterprise software suppliers because of IFS Applications' superior functionality and IFS' wide experience in our industry, which is very project-oriented. We are confident that IFS Applications will help us manage our core processes, which are project, material and fabrication management. We are confident that the agility in the component-based EPCI solution will support our business to grow further," said Wim Korndorffer, CIO, Heerema Group.

"IFS continues to gain momentum in the oil and gas market because we provide an industry-specific solution that supports contractors' key requirements for efficient EPCI processes with a standard package," said Wilfried Gschneidinger, Managing Director, IFS Central Europe. "HFG is known in the global oil and gas market for professional and high-quality execution of complex deliveries, and we are proud to add HFG to our customer list."

IFS has a focus on the construction and contracting industries, with more than 300 project-driven customers. Contracting customers within the oil and gas segment include Grenland Group, Babcock Engineering Services, Harland and Wolff, ShawCore Inc, Dresser-Rand, Yantai Raffles, Aker Yards, Advanced Production & Loading (APL), Rosenberg Verft, Hamworthy Gas Systems, RR Offshore, Rotary Engineering, and Shedden Uhde.
