Government's year-end procurement rush is in full steam resulting in this week's National Tender Bulletin coming in two parts. Unlike the last edition, however, submission deadlines are now primarily being set down for January 2021.
Software requests lead the issue with just under half of the advertisements calling specifically for additional or renewal of licences. Requests for services and hardware are also plentiful with both receiving opportunities in the double digits.
Moving to the close of the issue, tender cancellations and awards remain low key with three and six notices respectively. The Universal Service and Access Agency of South Africa features predominantly as it cancels its tenders for 32-inch integrated digital televisions for 2020 indigent matriculants as well as the envisioned voucher system for beneficiaries.
The Council for Geoscience also deserves a mention with its notice that it is retracting last week's announcement of a server accommodation facilities tender awarded to the State IT Agency as the publication was erroneous.
