Heidelberg-based GRP (glass reinforced panel) truck bodies and trailer manufacturer, Icecold Bodies, has awarded a contract to mid-market ERP solutions provider Lorge for the supply and implementation of a SAP Business One accounting and financial software solution.
The contract includes manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and CRM functionality, and also covers system training and ongoing support from Lorge.
Formed in 1993, Icecold Bodies has achieved consistent annual growth to the point that, in 2000, the manufacturing operation was extended to also produce a range of trailers. Today, the company has a staff complement of 200 skilled employees.
The GRP truck body range includes ice-cream, chiller, freezer, carcass carrier and bakery variations and a unique own design of cattle carrier trailers is made, as well as a semi-trailer and drawbar, interlink, skeletal and brick trailers. A skeletal tipper completes the range of products, all of which are SABS approved. Repairs to GRP bodies and trailers are also conducted.
Alex Viviers of Lorge`s SAP Business One corporate sales said Icecold Bodies is replacing an existing financial software package with a seven-user fully networked SAP Business One solution in order to achieve a real-time, fully-integrated system that offers full financials, manufacturing, MRP (materials requirement planning), as well as customer relationship management with sales opportunities functionality.
"This is an important step forward for Icecold Bodies. The integration of manufacturing, MRP, stock and CRM in a single solution with real-time reporting that streamlines the production process, ensures stock levels will always meet manufacturing requirements and customers receive their orders on time."
The system is due to go live at the end of July.
