HPA selects PDS

Hospital Partners of America (HPA) has selected PDS's Vista HRMS (human resource management system) to manage the human resource operations of its hospitals, according to Emediaewire.

"We buy broken hospitals and fix them," explained Peter Luciano, senior VP and chief HR officer for HPA. "With each new hospital come new systems and processes, we needed to find a solution to consolidate our systems and bring uniformity to our operations.

"We are excited about our decision to partner with PDS and feel PDS is the right vendor to help us manage not only the HR, payroll and benefits operations of our current hospitals, but strategically help us grow and achieve our goals," he adds.

Oz defence upgrades systems

The Australian Department of Defence's technology office will hand down a new strategy for upgrading and maintaining the organisation's controversial core business systems by the middle of the year, says, The Australian.

The new enterprise resource planning strategy could have big implications for SAP, Oracle and Mincom, which supply the department's accounting, payroll, human resources and supply chain software.

It remains unclear if the chief information officer group will issue fresh tenders this year for a $100 million HR and payroll system upgrade that was put on hold in late 2006.
