Wisconsin's Department of Health Services filed plans with the US Department of Health and Human Services to set up an electronic health information network, says News of the North.net.
The move will allow the state to get $9.4 million for the network, and for private healthcare providers to receive $500 million to $800 million so they can buy the necessary equipment and record systems.
Once implemented, the network will enable healthcare providers to better coordinate patient care and improve efficiency of healthcare delivery in Wisconsin.
