Google creates online payment system
Google is developing infrastructure to host a one-click payment system for online news content, reports Big Mouth Media.
The payment system would allow users a range of payment options to access news from various publishers, including micro-payments and long-term subscriptions.
Google has made no secret of its plans to charge for news content in the future, outlining its intentions in September for a micro-payments system that's expected to work in a similar way to Google Checkout.

GE offers SaaS e-health
GE's healthcare division has revealed an electronic medical record product in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform aimed at small or remote physician practices, says Business Week.
GE says the SaaS offering differs from a traditional hosted or application service provider model in that customers are charged a monthly subscription fee.
The solution, Centricity Advance, offers a patient self-service portal that allows patients to access their personal medical records through their own secure password in order to schedule appointments; request prescription refills; or access billing statements, lab results and private messages from their clinicians.
