The efficiency of international travel has increased exponentially thanks largely to the collective ICT system support and services of Amadeus Southern Africa GTD, and Integr8 IT, one of SA's largest privately-owned BEE ICT infrastructure management specialists.
Amadeus Southern Africa GTD, a global distribution system (GDS) and technology provider servicing the global market, has renewed its long-term complete outsource partnership and service contract with Integr8 IT, and extended it by a further three years.
The alliance was established to expose the local market to Amadeus' services and reinforce the IT services component within Amadeus GTD Southern Africa.
According to the agreement, Amadeus' client base has access to and can leverage off Integr8 IT's ITIL-based, first-ever, South African 24/7/365 Nerve Centre.
This has emerged as a contributing factor towards Amadeus reaching its primary objective of strengthening its presence locally and positioning itself at the forefront of a growing and highly competitive sector.
"Amadeus Southern Africa had been looking to partner with a credible, established, yet agile and innovative company to help it entrench its multifaceted service portfolio across the local market."
The company required the highest level of proven expertise and skill to demonstrate its understanding of IT services and support provision from a local perspective.
"There was no doubt that Integr8 IT's proven track record within this arena led to its partnership renewal and increase in service portfolio to Amadeus and its growing client base," explains Robert Sussman, joint-MD of Integr8 IT.
Both companies are delighted with the outcome from the services delivered over the past years, with customers being hugely rewarded with the benefit they receive from innovative proactive managed ICT services and support.
"Clients of Amadeus require a flexible, single IT solution to meet their GDS and other information technology needs. Our strategy and focus within this market has been to represent a comprehensive IT travel guide from a networking infrastructure perspective.
"The objective remains with Integr8 IT being completely aligned with the operational processes of Amadeus in terms of technology and procedure, enabling us to build together on national projects and site installations," adds Sussman.
Frank Palapies, GM at Amadeus Southern Africa, says the alliance with Integr8 IT has been instrumental in helping the company to gain the most effective footprint locally, and also to establish a base through which to supply its service according to its three-pronged business model.
"Amadeus Southern Africa is based on three, core business units: travel distribution, information technology services and e-commerce. Through these key components, the company is able to supply its clients with the most relevant, up-to-date and efficient solutions, services and support.
"We have established this alliance with Integr8 IT in order to add another level of service to our existing portfolio. In our experience, Integr8 IT has been reliable, efficient and highly knowledgeable in providing proactive support, services and innovative solutions, and demonstrating what can be achieved by plugging into its nerve centre," says Palapies.
Aside from exposure to technology and enhanced services, Sussman points out the business opportunity that lies in the travel and tourism market.
"This is not virgin territory for Integr8 IT. We have been supporting the travel industry and travel-focused companies for many years. The agreement with Amadeus Southern Africa offers us a unique platform to engage with the market based on leading, most up-to-date technology systems.
"It is a solid channel through which we can deliver the benefit of technology expertise that is customised to add value to this competitive, exciting and vibrant market," says Sussman.
