The Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA) will welcome a new leader on Friday, as its incumbent CEO completes his three-year term this week.
ICASA announced this morning that former head of regulatory affairs at Vodacom, Pakamile Pongwana, will take over as CEO of the telecoms watchdog, as of 1 November.
Pongwana succeeds Themba Dlamini, whose tenure reaches its end this month.
"The chairperson and council of ICASA would like to express their sincere gratitude to Themba Dlamini for his contribution to the successful operations of the authority during his tenure and wish him well in his future endeavours."
ICASA spokesperson Paseka Maleka says the authority does not have details on what Dlamini plans to do going forward.
