Pharmaceutical manufacturer and distributor Equity Holdings (Pty) Ltd has selected Sage ERP X3 from premier Softline Accpac business partner AccTech Systems.
With a large user base and experience in the pharmaceuticals industry, Sage ERP X3 promises to meet all of Equity Holdings` financial and distribution requirements, says Johann Willemse, CEO of Equity Holdings.
"The pharmaceutical industry has very specific requirements when it comes to the selection of a MIS," says Willemse. "Sage ERP X3 provides a complete array of pharmaceutical industry-specific functionalities required by Equity Holdings and our subsidiaries, Equity Pharmaceuticals, HomeMed and GlucoLab. As such, the process of selecting a solution for our group was an easy one."
Tertius Zitzke, Managing Director of AccTech Systems, says that since the South African launch of Sage ERP X3 in February, AccTech Systems has been inundated with requests by companies wanting to benefit from X3`s industry-specific features.
With a focus on pharmaceutical, food and beverage, life sciences, manufacturing, and the wholesale trade industry, Sage ERP X3 covers a very wide scope of African business sectors.
"Equity Holdings had a specific request for batch and serial number tracking of its medicines, along with automated quarantine of suspicious items picked up in the quality control procedure, a standard feature in Sage ERP X3," says Zitzke.
Keith Fenner, Strategic Sales Director at Softline Accpac, says the product is a fully-integrated application suite which is functionally robust in a range of vertical sectors, including pharmaceutical. "The pharmaceutical sector is a key focus area for Sage ERP X3 and the product has achieved enormous success in this sector worldwide," Fenner says.
Sage ERP X3`s Web-native architecture means that a customer`s system can be accessed the same way in both client/server and Web mode, says Fenner. "This feature will provide Equity Holdings the ability to operate the system locally or through the Web in the exact same manner. This will be particularly valuable in cost-effectively connecting remote locations or subsidiaries to the head office," concludes Fenner.
