IB McIntyre & Co, a company assembling products from door locking systems to general hardware and architectural ironmongery, recently selected EOH business unit, Impact Africa, to implement SYSPRO as its preferred enterprise resource planning (ERP) software solution. The decision to utilise SYSPRO was based on the company`s tremendous growth in both staff and product supply.
Located in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, the company`s owner and managing director, Dennis Pullinger, works alongside his son Robert Pullinger, operations director and Jonathan Dawson, commercial director. Comprising of 160 staff, IB McIntyre also represents Master Lock, the largest selling brand in the United States, Europe and Australia and the only brand of its kind to carry a lifetime guarantee.
"We needed a fully integrated ERP system that would enable us to attain real-time information from the business, grow with its development and keep us up-to-date with marketplace trends," says Pullinger.
"SYSPRO was selected as our system of choice and we were amazed at its smooth implementation. Impact Africa`s team controlled the entire project, allowing us to carry on with business as usual, and the transition of staff through training was excellent. According to Dawson, once the old system was switched off and the new system implemented, business proceeded to run like clockwork, even at its busiest time.
With management reports taking up valuable time in the past, Pullinger says SYSPRO`s versatility made information more readily accessible. "By having the systems manufacturing modules in place, we were able to tighten up on business processes and security when controlling vast amount of stock items. Management of customer base requirements for bar-coding, packaging, security and stock protection is also now possible. Our partnership with Impact Africa and SYSPRO has been extremely satisfying and as a result the company is achieving all of its objectives," concludes Pullinger.
